RE: Design ideas for a platform to lower camper onto...

They were called Budster blocks. From a 2010 post with photos: https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/23588386/print/true.cfm https://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k55/budster59/camper%20stuff/Camperstand-2.jpg

RE: Flat towing with your truck camper

Mine is the same as Mike/Kellie NSA tow bar and surge brake system. Works great. I think the toughest test for this set up for us was a trip on CA 20 from Willits to Ft Bragg, if you have ever been on that road, you know it has its share of ups and down hills and twisty curves. For lights for my jeep I went with the "Hopkins" towing light wiring kit for towed vehicles. Works perfect no problems whats so ever. Its been working perfectly for the paast 3 years. 2006 f 350, 2002 Lance 1130, flat towing TJ There's not a straight line on that road.

RE: Towing a Jeep Cherokee

That's called the "curb weight" - it's how much the vehicle weighs. The Jeep Cherokee has a curb weight of around 4250 lbs. The Grand Cherokee weights much more. Which transmission your Cherokee has is important. Not all Cherokees are suitable for flat tow.

RE: heat and Li batteries.

Many phones reduce charge/discharge rates beyond 95 degrees Fahrenheit due to their battery chemistry. Lithium ION as previously pointed out. True. But how many truck campers have Lithium ION batteries? Lithium Iron Phosphate, according to the manufacturer's information have a working temperature between 32 and 130 degrees as I recall. Yesterday: https://www.familybynet.net/images/114degrees.jpg height=500 Still plenty of room to move. . .

RE: Carbon Monoxide alarm going off

The problem might go away when the pollen season is over. And that might be why the alarm is okay when it's in the house, but not when it's outside.
